For maps: Amap (高德地图) is the app that works reliably inside China. Google Maps is useful for planning before you travel, but treat its driving directions in China as approximate.

Wulingyuan · Weiyang Road

The building is on a side street within easy walking distance of the park gate — close enough to come back for a rest in the middle of the day, far enough that it's quiet at night.

Directions

Arriving from the airport or station

We can arrange a car for any of these. Send us your arrival details the day before and you won't have to think about it.

From Hehua Airport

Zhangjiajie Hehua International Airport (DYG) is about 45–60 minutes away by road. It's a small airport and you'll be through baggage reclaim quickly.

Ask us for a pickup and the driver will meet you in the arrivals hall.

From Zhangjiajie West

The high-speed rail station, roughly 45–60 minutes by road. Most travellers arrive here from Changsha.

The station is large and the taxi rank can be busy. A pre-arranged car is easier with luggage.

By bus from the city

Frequent buses run from Zhangjiajie central bus station to Wulingyuan, taking about 40–50 minutes and costing from around ¥20.

The bus terminates at Wulingyuan bus station, which is right next to us — a one-minute walk.

Booking

Call us, or add us on WeChat

We don't take bookings through this website. Availability, rates and the exact layout of a room are all confirmed in conversation — by phone, or on WeChat.

Call us

We speak English. Calling from outside China? Dial +86 and drop the leading zero from the number below.

If nobody picks up, someone is probably with a guest — try again shortly, or send a WeChat message instead.

Open WeChat on your phone, tap the + in the top right, choose Scan, and point it at the code below.

Press and hold the code below and choose Recognise QR code — or save it and scan from WeChat.

Devoshine Hotel WeChat QR code

A note on messaging in China. WeChat is how the country communicates. WhatsApp, Messenger and most Western messaging apps don't work on Chinese networks, so installing WeChat before you travel is worth the ten minutes — you'll use it for far more than booking this room.

What to tell us when you get in touch

Copy this list and fill it in — it saves a round of messages.

  • Arrival and departure dates, and how many nights
  • How many guests, and whether any are children
  • Room preference — one big bed, or two separate beds
  • Flight or train number and arrival time
  • Whether you'd like a transfer arranged
  • Any dietary needs for breakfast
  • How many days you have, so we can suggest a route
1

You call or message

Tell us your dates and how many people are travelling. English is fine.

2

We confirm what's available

We'll tell you what's free for your dates, what it costs, and which room type suits your group. No pressure and no upselling — if the cheapest room is right for you, we'll say so.

3

We sort out the transfer

Give us your flight or train details and we'll arrange the pickup, confirming the meeting point and price in advance.

4

Bring your passport

Required at check-in for all foreign guests in China, and for buying park tickets. This is a legal requirement, not a hotel policy.

Arriving late? Tell us in advance and we'll make sure someone is expecting you, whatever time your flight lands. It's an easier conversation to have before you travel than from an airport at midnight.

We're happy to answer questions

Whether you're ready to book or still deciding between Zhangjiajie and somewhere else, ask us. Straight answers, no sales pitch.
